“Did I learn anything today?”

January 22nd, 2009 · 1 Comment

What have you learned in the last 30 days?

It’s even better to ask yourself:

 “Did I learn anything today?”

Put each thing you learned today on a post-it note with the day’s date, and put it where you can see it.  Read your notes everyday for 30 days.  This will keep what you’ve learned fresh in your mind, and you will start using it (instead of forgetting it).

If you can’t think of anything you learned today, Google “red ants” and read something new!

Putting this to use with Sage Master Builder:

There’s a whole world of info about Sage Master Builder just waiting for your “click”.

It’s inside the help button.  “Help” is better than ever, and all you have to do is wander inside and do a little shopping (all free!).

Here’s some interesting things to look up (Help: Index):

Type “function keys”, click “Display”, Lists All Function Keys (F1, F2, etc) and what they do.

Type “accounting”, click “daily”, Lists daily accounting duties for an office

(also click weekly, quarterly, yearly for similar info)

Type “state tax”, click your state, lists details for calculating state taxes

Type “profit and loss accounts”, click, Learn more about Ledger Accounts and how they work

Type “logos”, click “inserting in forms”, Step by step procedure and some Tips on logo sizing

Type “keyboard shortcuts”, click “activating”, Learn how to activate and use keyboard shortcuts

…Your turn to try something on your own.

Have a little extra time on your hands?

Now’s the time to learn some of the things you’ve been putting off

Don’t forget to put it on post-it notes!

Happy “Shopping”!
